Position Summary
The Director, USMA Onboarding & Training leads end-to-end onboarding and training standards for US Medical Affairs to ensure every new hire is equipped and provisioned with necessary tools & access, acclimated to culture, thoroughly prepared on USMA policies and procedures, and has a documented, risk based scientific/medical training plan. This role will proactively partner with other enterprise functions within Transformation, Strategy & Operations (TSO) to identify and integrate new capabilities, ways of working and policy changes into onboarding. In partnership with Scientific Training leads, establish and maintain overall scientific knowledge standards, scientific training standards and governance. The Director promotes a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing, proactively aligning onboarding and training with overall business goals.

Position Summary

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Build and deliver targeted onboarding program and modules and role-based training in partnership with capabilities team to ensure employees can efficiently find, interpret and apply the right information for role readiness and decision making.
- Proactively engage TSO teams (capabilities, operations, risk) to identify emerging capabilities, new ways of working and policy updates, and translate these into onboarding requirements and updated training standards.
- Accountable to design, implement and continuously improve a standardized, scalable USMA onboarding program that covers the following, as dictated by role:
- Equipment provisioning
- Site/virtual orientation, facilities and tool access
- USMA culture, values and behavioral expectations
- Policy, compliance and procedural awareness (medical governance, data privacy, HCP engagement guidelines, etc)
- Define and maintain scientific training standards (competencies, timelines, validation criteria and required documentation), frameworks, templates and competency rubrics for use by Medical Communications and Scientific Training (MCSTs) leads.
- Coordinate with MCST leads across TAs and functions to ensure new team members have documented, traceable training plans that meet standards and are recorded in the appropriate training system.
- Establish and track onboarding and training metrics (time-to-productivity, competency attainment, completion rates, satisfaction, audit findings); produce insights and drive continuous improvement by coordinating with training management systems lead to ensure technology meets the needs of the training teams.
- Partner with HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, IT, Legal/Medical Governance, Compliance, EHS, Procurement and local site/field leadership to operationalize onboarding logistics and remove barriers to new-hire productivity.
- Manage external vendors, budgets and cross-functional project delivery, as necessary (define SLAs, procurement criteria and success milestones).
- Drive stakeholder engagement and change management to ensure adoption of standards across Medical Affairs.

- Bachelor's Degree in life sciences, business administration, or related field
- 8+ years in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
- 3+ years of experience in leading and managing adult learning initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment.
