The janitorial worker will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in hospital rooms, particularly focusing on sanitizing rooms post-discharge. This role requires significant walking, and candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Key tasks include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, dusting, cleaning spills, mopping, and wiping down surfaces. The hospital environment spans multiple floors, requiring strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize hospital rooms after patient discharge.
- Wipe down equipment and surfaces to maintain hygiene.
- Empty trash bins and manage waste disposal.
- Sweep and mop floors to ensure cleanliness.
- Handle cleaning spills promptly and efficiently.
- Navigate and learn the hospital's floor plan within a reasonable time.
- Use issued iPhones to receive daily assignments and access cleaning tutorials.
- Experience in custodial, environmental services, or housekeeping.
- Comfortable with using smartphone technology for receiving assignments.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple floors.
- Preferred previous experience in healthcare janitorial work.
- GED or high school diploma is preferred.
- Willingness to work every other weekend and major holidays.
- Robust background check required.

Work EnvironmentThis is a very fast-paced work environment where patience is essential. Employees must be prepared to spend significant time walking throughout the hospital. The hospital plans to onboard many new hires simultaneously, which might delay badge issuance. A three-strike attendance policy is enforced, and employees must demonstrate the ability to adapt to the hospital setting. Rotating schedules are common, requiring work every other weekend and on major holidays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Port Matilda, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
