Accounting Manager

Description

This Account Manager will play a key part in managing freight-related financial operations, supporting the month-end close process, and contributing to overall financial accuracy and reporting. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all freight bills are received in a timely manner and that payments to freight carriers are accurately set up and processed. This includes working closely with logistics and operations teams to resolve any discrepancies and maintain strong vendor relationships. They will also support the month-end close by reconciling key accounts and preparing journal entries to ensure the integrity of the general ledger. They will work directly with the Controller to review financial statements, assist in identifying variances, and contribute to the preparation of internal and external financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in accounting, preferred. Open to finance degree with relevant experience.
• 5+ years of experience reconciling accounts
• 5+ years of experience recording journal entries
• 5+ years of experience preparing financial statements
• 2+ years of experience working with freight in a distribution setting
• Create pivot tables and vlookups in Excel
• Proficient within a large scale ERP such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, NetSuite, Workday, SAGE, or Microsoft Dynamics
