Now Hiring Assembly Technician in Emigsville, PA

First Shift Opportunity, 3-Day Weekends

Pay: $19/hr

Job Description

As an Assembly Technician, you will be an essential part of the assembly team, working primarily on the Cooler Pressing Line. This position involves performing repetitive processes using various machines and hand tools to complete the assembly and sub-assembly of component parts. The role requires cross-training in all functions, ensuring flexibility and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble sub-assemblies, add caps, align them, and run through the press machine.
  • Conduct quality checks and pack finished coolers into shipping containers.
  • Test units using air pressure and remove plates after assembly.
  • Work in the Bundle Department, setting up baffles, measuring distances with calipers, and using a glue gun as per work orders.
  • Insert cores into casting and prepare for pinning and pressing processes.
  • Maintain production records, including downtime, quality, and maintenance.
  • Ensure quality standards are met through visual inspection and measuring devices.
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Perform necessary computer transactions in various software programs.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job assignments and related functions as directed.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanically inclined with 2 years of hands-on experience.
  • Proficient in using power tools and hand tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to work with both hands and perform tasks requiring hand dexterity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic arithmetic skills, including MDAS and decimals.
  • Reading comprehension at an 8th-grade level to understand work orders.
  • Willingness to cross-train and adapt to various functions.
  • Direct manufacturing assembly experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Work primarily on the first shift, Monday to Thursday, from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional overtime as required. The facility has undergone significant upgrades, including a $5 million investment to ensure a clean, climate-controlled assembly process. The work is ergonomic, with a strong focus on safety, resulting in over five years without a work-loss injury. Employees work in cell groups of 3 to 6 individuals, fostering teamwork and collaboration. The dress code requires PPE such as steel-toe boots, long work pants, safety glasses, hearing protection (optional), and a safety vest.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of York, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
