Job Title: Rigger
Job Description

The Rigger position entails working from 7 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. This role involves the alignment, leveling, and anchoring of machinery or equipment, as well as the use of hand and power tools to secure loads and prevent movement.

Responsibilities

  • Align, level, and anchor machinery or equipment.
  • Use hand and power tools to attach loads to rigging, providing support or preparing for moving.
  • Select appropriate gear such as cables, pulleys, vices, and winches according to load weights, sizes, work area, and job specifications.
  • Signal or verbally communicate with workers to ensure the safety of workers and materials during hoisting, suspending, and moving loads.
  • Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials, heavy equipment, and machinery.
  • Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces using chain falls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
  • Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver around obstacles using multi-point suspension techniques.
  • Install ground rigging for yarding lines utilizing chokers, logs, and other necessary tools.
  • Assist in the fabrication, setup, and repair of rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear using hand and power tools.
  • Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms using bolts and clamps.
  • Operate mechanized equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of experience in a related field.
  • 1+ year of forklift operation experience.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Experience with bolting and mechanical tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Ability to take direction and closely follow instructions.
  • Capability to visualize or predict job outcomes using deductive and inductive reasoning.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment, including hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • Familiarity with hand or flag signals.
  • Willingness to learn and follow safety requirements, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
