Job Title: Electrical Field Inspector


Job Description

We are seeking skilled Electrical Field Inspectors to join our team. This role involves planning and conducting surveillance inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with certification documents. The position offers a flexible schedule, with the majority of the work conducted remotely, allowing you to create your own schedule when not traveling.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct surveillance inspections according to scheduling requirements.
  • Prepare for visits and document inspection requirements remotely.
  • Review manufacturer’s production and quality processes.
  • Assess production tests, including methods, equipment, and calibration.
  • Inspect listed products, sub-assemblies, and components for compliance.
  • Review label inventory and control, and document unresolved issues.
  • Select samples as directed and document compliance and non-compliance.
  • Advise clients on resolving non-compliance issues.
  • Complete and submit Follow-up Service Inspection Reports for each client.
  • Facilitate communication between facility representatives and company personnel.
  • Maintain expenses within given guidelines.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years experience in Electrical Test or Quality/Reliability Test Industry.
  • Experience in electronic/electrical testing or quality/reliability testing.
  • Knowledge of engineering, electrical inspection, manufacturing, or quality control.
  • Familiarity with National Electric Code and product compliance requirements.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing setting and knowledge of Quality Control methods.
  • Ability to travel as needed with a valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Access to the internet and strong computer skills.

Work Environment

This role primarily involves working from home, with occasional travel to job sites. Inspectors will work with approximately 30 clients per quarter, splitting their time between on-site inspections and remote documentation. Travel is mainly local, with potential overnight stays or long drives. Full-time positions require 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The role offers a flexible work schedule, allowing inspectors to work from home when not traveling. Inspectors will use their own vehicles with a national mileage reimbursement rate (70 cents per mile) and will receive paid windshield time, along with provided tools and a company tablet.
