Job Description
The Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) ensures that all construction work and processes meet established quality standards according to project specifications and contractual requirements. The QAR will coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) Manager and contractor teams to monitor compliance, conduct inspections, and maintain accurate project records.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the Definable Feature of Work (DFOW) are installed and constructed according to the plans and specifications of the Designer of Record and contract documents.
- Monitor and analyze a third-party inspection company’s testing and compliance procedures.
- Conduct regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors to ensure compliance with contracts and governmental regulations.
- Document inspection outcomes and maintain a daily log to be input into the document management system.
- Participate in preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections as part of the three-phase inspection process.
- Collaborate with the project team to identify non-conforming work and support corrective action measures.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality assurance procedures.
- Support the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) and Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) in managing contract modifications, change orders, performance, and deficiency tracking.
- Certification in Quality Management, such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Construction Quality Manager (CQM).
- OSHA-30 certification.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, RS Means Data, and USACE.
- Significant experience performing field inspections of the full range of construction activities.
- More than 10 years of fieldwork experience in a wide range of construction activities.
- Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance/quality control experience in the engineering/construction industry.
- Proficient knowledge of Bluebeam software, CADD, and other engineering tools.
- Ability to build an Independent Government Estimate (IGE) using MCACES II.
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 and ability to conduct a schedule analysis of a contractor's construction schedule.
- Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
The role requires working collaboratively with various teams and contractors, utilizing technologies such as Bluebeam and Primavera P6. The position necessitates a thorough understanding of construction activities and quality assurance protocols, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Aiken, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $48.07 - $55.28/hr.
