Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Chemistry Lab Technician with at least 2 years of hands-on laboratory experience to support our R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will be proficient in analytical testing, familiar with polymer chemistry, and comfortable working with a variety of lab instruments and quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing using pre-qualified methods to support R&D, engineering studies, and manufacturing validation.
- Conduct testing for extrusion insourcing projects and supplier quality control initiatives.
- Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as:
- Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)
- Karl Fischer moisture analyzer
- Melt flow index testers
- Viscosity measurement tools (e.g., Polyvisc, Cannon)
- Support new vendor qualification testing, including temperature variation and material behavior studies.
- Accurately document test results and ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and chemists to execute test plans and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and equipment readiness.
- Participate in team meetings to align on testing priorities and project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience (academic or industry).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures precisely.
- Willingness to learn and work with specialized instruments and techniques.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Experience with analytical instruments such as GPC, FTIR, or LC-MS.
- Familiarity with polymer testing, viscosity, and moisture analysis.
- Exposure to Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Understanding of ISO, GMP, or other quality standards.
