Job Title: R&D Lab Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented R&D Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting R&D scientists and chemists in achieving project goals through various laboratory tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety and quality, with a proactive approach to supporting laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist R&D scientists and chemists in achieving project goals.
- Execute and monitor lab batches and experimental work.
- Prepare test solutions, reagents, and samples.
- Perform product characterization and basic analytical testing.
- Set up, clean, and maintain glassware, lab equipment, and instruments.
- Document experimental data accurately in lab notebooks and reports.
- Track, organize, and communicate data and findings both written and verbally.
- Submit samples to R&D Analytical as required.
- Assist with raw material staging, inventorying, and acquisition.
- Support preparation of technical documents and SOPs.
- Participate in technical meetings and complete required follow-up lab work and documentation.
- Operate in compliance with ISO 9001, cGMP, customer, and internal safety requirements.
- Follow and enforce safety and environmental guidelines.
Essential Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on laboratory environment.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
- Team-first mindset with a proactive, self-starting approach.
- Comfortable with fluctuating workloads.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Experience in quality control, chemistry, and laboratory settings.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science, or a related field.
- Considered: Candidates without a degree who have relevant lab experience; school-based laboratory and instrument experience is acceptable; QC laboratory experience is acceptable.
- Required / High Priority: Titration, Gas Chromatography (GC), strong general wet chemistry and lab fundamentals.
- Preferred / Nice-to-Have: HPLC or GPC, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), FTIR, NMR, pH meters, melt temperature apparatus, basic synthesis techniques, distillation, and extraction.
Work Environment
This position is 90–95% lab-based, requires strong teamwork and initiative, and offers long-term growth and ability to work collaboratively in a supportive environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
