Are you a seasoned field professional ready to lead high-impact Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) operations? As a SUE Technician, you’ll guide teams, oversee complex fieldwork, and ensure precision and safety in infrastructure projects that shape communities across the Southeast.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily SUE field operations across multiple job sites
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field crews and junior staff
  • Ensure accurate data collection, documentation, and reporting
  • Oversee the use and maintenance of specialized locating and survey equipment
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, and internal teams to ensure project success
  • Manage logistics, scheduling, and resource allocation for field operations

📌 What You Bring

  • Proven experience in SUE field operations, land surveying, or utility locating
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency with total stations, GPS, electromagnetic locating tools, and GPR
  • Familiarity with vacuum excavation and utility mapping standards
  • Prior experience with USIC or similar organizations preferred
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
  • Willingness to travel and adapt to changing outdoor environments

🌎 Work Environment

This is a 100% field-based leadership role. You’ll oversee crews working outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain. Overnight travel may be required depending on project scope and location.
