About the role:
As a Mechanical Engineer II you will support testing activities for nuclear fuel and related components. This includes development of test plans, testing oversight, compilation and processing of test data, and performing design analyses based on test data output.
You will report to the Manager - Grids and Core Component Design. This is a hybrid role located in Colombia, SC.

You will report to the Manager - Grids and Core Component Design. This is a hybrid role located in Colombia, SC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual contributor who can assume technical engineering responsibilities and independent engineering tasks with guidance from more senior engineers.
- Responsible for mechanical design activities using established Westinghouse design methodologies to develop new nuclear fuel products and enhancements of existing fuel products.
- Work in multifaceted teams with focus on new product development or issue resolution.
- Perform design changes to support manufacturability improvements.
- Assess impacts of manufacturing and quality upsets on nuclear fuel performance to support product disposition.
- Support for technical development of newer team members.
- Work with internal departments to support Westinghouse business activities
- BS in Mechanical Engineering (or comparable technical degree) required
- Minimum 3 years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and time management skills
- Experience working with all partners
- Experience in SolidWorks, Ansys, and MATLAB
