Job Title: Assembler



Job Description

Join our dynamic team to build composite parts using advanced hand layup techniques. You will utilize a laser system for precise placement of plies on tools, ensuring a smooth, wrinkle-free build-up. As part of your role, you will vacuum bag parts and perform in-process inspections, adhering to quality standards and recording necessary data accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Build composite parts using hand layup techniques.
  • Utilize laser systems for accurate layup of plies.
  • Fit and smooth layers of materials to eliminate wrinkles and voids.
  • Vacuum bag parts for various curing processes.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and record findings.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Perform visual inspections and record time worked in Epicor.
  • Use chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required.
  • Clean and prepare bond tools and work areas.
  • Unbag and demold parts, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
  • Adapt to changes and manage competing demands effectively.

Essential Skills

  • Assembly and production experience.
  • Proficiency in hand layup of composite materials.
  • Skillful in vacuum bagging techniques.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools and instruments.
  • Capability to work under minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and sit frequently.
  • Capability to use hands for manipulation and reach.
  • Ability to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong vision abilities, including close and color vision.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LADSON, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
