Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Pipefitter, where you will play a vital role in installing and assembling piping systems across various new construction and industrial sites. Utilize your skills and expertise to interpret blueprints, select materials, and ensure the quality and integrity of our piping systems.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including locations, quantities, and material specifications.
- Select the type and size of pipes, as well as related materials and equipment, according to specifications.
- Cut, thread, bend, and assemble pipes.
- Prepare, cut, fabricate, layout, fit, position, and assemble piping components in various positions.
- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for welding.
- Install hangers, supports, valves, and components according to piping system plans and specifications.
- Perform leak tests to ensure the quality of the pipes and piping systems.
- Properly identify and use required tools such as grinders, drills, and beveling machines.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Hoist loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, cables, and other rigging equipment.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in pipe fitting and blueprint reading.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and instructions to determine work procedures.
- Understanding of weld symbols, weld procedures, and mechanical and structural drawings.
- Ability to use oxy/fuel and plasma hand cutting torches.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with B31.3, B31.4, and API 1104 codes.
- Welding and/or tacking experience using the GTAW process.
- Familiarity with weld inspections and inspection documentation.
- NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.
- Formal or technical education in a related field.

Work Environment
You will work onsite at various new construction and industrial sites. The typical schedule is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Initially, some travel will be required until more local projects commence around July. Travel outside of 50 miles will be compensated with a per diem, and you will not be expected to be away for more than three weeks at a time.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ladson, SC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
