About the role:
As a Senior Manager, Category Management, Electrical, Instruments & Controls (EIC), you will lead a category team. This team will implement opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, and reliability. The goal is to reach organizational goals. You will lead and grow a category management team in Fabrication category. You will report to the Director, Global Category Management - Direct. 100% Remote role.

About the role:
As a Senior Manager, Category Management, Electrical, Instruments & Controls (EIC), you will lead a category team. This team will implement opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, and reliability. The goal is to reach organizational goals. You will lead and grow a category management team in Fabrication category. You will report to the Director, Global Category Management - Direct. 100% Remote role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 7 to 9 category managers responsible for multiple fabrications in LTO, OMS, and other business units.
- Direct the segmentation of assign spend into category and subcategory groupings to create levers to achieve operational excellence.
- Leads the development of overall category strategies to meet organizational goals by improving Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) while securing supply continuity through identifying and mitigating current and potential risks and opportunities in the category playbook.
- Ensure the execution category strategy through a preferred supplier list (PSL). This strategy also involves "right-sizing" non-preferred suppliers. Additionally, it rewards preferred partners with business awards tied to Long-term Agreements (LTA). These agreements focus on year over year improvements in cost, delivery, quality, service, and profitability.
- Lead important business reviews (SRM) with strategic suppliers to bring category strategy and completion of category goals.
- Review presentations for supplier relationship management meetings, category playbooks, risk mitigation proposals, 4-Blockers, and supplier/category gap analysis.
- Create and execute a plan to deliver annual our results against metrics of saving, payment terms, on-time delivery, risk mitigation including inflation, and other metrics as determined by Leadership.
- Maintain category knowledge by researching and tracking industry trends, best practices, applicable indices, and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage, and increased overall productivity.
- Develop a productive working relationship with teams: Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Procurement
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience procurement and category management
- 3 years of negotiating contracts
