Job Description

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, alteration, repair, replacement, and maintenance of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment. This role requires adherence to strict daily and weekly project deadlines and may involve working independently or as part of a team under limited supervision. Electricians may occasionally oversee the work of others and report directly to the Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safe working procedures and report unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Ensure assigned property (tools, materials, equipment) is secure at all times.
  • Keep tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, organizing tools and materials, and removing debris or tripping hazards.
  • Transport tools and materials, including lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, sometimes up stairs or over uneven surfaces.
  • Bend, stoop, and regain balance when installing electrical boxes, pipes, and fixtures spanning floor to ceiling.
  • Lift, position, hold, fasten, drill, or hammer objects such as conduit, motors, fixtures, and poles for installation or removal.
  • Pull wire of all gauges, independently or with assistance.
  • Use manual, electrical, and battery-operated hand tools including screwdrivers, hammers, saws, wrenches, pliers, drills, conduit benders, knockout cutters, wire cutters, wire strippers, and wire pullers.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical knowledge and experience in construction.
  • Ability to work with conduit, OSHA 10 certification.
  • Proficiency in electrical wiring and having industrial construction experience.
  • Must have all tools required for controls installation, schematic reading, service, and power tool usage.
  • Knowledge of cable management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with scissor lift and boom lift operation.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The position is located at the SGR Data Center in Saint George, SC.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint George, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
