The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing all EHS programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while fostering a strong safety culture across the facility. This role partners closely with plant leadership, operations, and engineering teams to proactively identify risks, reduce incidents, and support sustainable manufacturing practices.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs for the Tennessee plant.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, TN regulatory requirements, and company global EHS standards.
- Oversee training and development programs related to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and emergency response procedures.
- Provide first aid and CPR training to employees, ensuring readiness for emergency situations.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHA), and safety audits.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and environmental events; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage environmental programs including waste management, air emissions, wastewater, chemical handling, and spill prevention.
- Maintain required EHS records, permits, reports, and documentation.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incident trends, and compliance status for management review.
- Deliver safety training and promote employee engagement in EHS initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance and environmental impact.
- Support external inspections and audits by regulatory agencies and customers.
- Represent the organization as Management Representative and Facilitator for the ISO Environmental Management System and IATF Quality Management System.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA for industry and ISO standards.
- Proven ability to lead EHS programs and influence safety culture.
- Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively to identify systemic issues.
- EHS certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) are preferred.
- Experience in automotive or metal manufacturing environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001/ISO 45001 standards.
This position offers monthly bonuses based on safety, quality, sales, and production, which can be 2-4% of base pay. Employees also enjoy holiday bonuses and a robust benefits package including a competitive 401K plan.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is a non-temperature controlled, clean manufacturing facility equipped with newer machines. It is semi-noisy due to the stamping presses running continuously, and ear protection and safety glasses are provided. The company is expanding, adding another 28,000 square feet and new machines. The role operates on the first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6 am to 2:30 pm, with on-call responsibilities for emergency situations.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
