Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform essential in-process and finished product testing in accordance with internal and customer specifications. The role involves preparing test specimens using injection molding equipment, evaluating, documenting, and communicating necessary adjustments to production material that does not meet specifications. Additionally, you will be responsible for thoroughly documenting and placing on quality hold any material not meeting requirements, performing calibration verification and periodic maintenance on laboratory testing equipment, and maintaining housekeeping in the laboratory and injection molding areas.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-process and finished product testing per specifications.
  • Prepare test specimens using injection molding equipment.
  • Evaluate and document necessary adjustments to production material.
  • Communicate adjustments required for material not meeting specifications.
  • Document and place on quality hold any non-conforming material.
  • Perform calibration verification and periodic maintenance on testing equipment.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in laboratory and injection molding areas.

Essential Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Diploma or Certification in Applied Technology strongly preferred.
  • Basic laboratory experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in chemistry, laboratory procedures, and quality control.
  • Good documentation practices and communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge in sample testing, production processes, polymer chemistry, materials science, product development, and materials handling.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and software.
  • Project management skills and leadership abilities.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing laboratory environment, requiring night shifts from Monday to Friday, 10pm to 6am. The position offers a dynamic work setting where innovation, integrity, and excellence are valued.
