Data Management Technician (Fiber Design)
Job Description
As a Data Management Technician, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate graphical information of the fiber system using the current graphics software package. You will ensure accurate customer information for outage management analysis and work closely with the sales team to verify outside plant facilities for orders. This role requires you to prioritize tasks, assist field technicians, and submit timely reports.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain accurate graphical information of the fiber system.
- Maintain accurate customer information for outage management analysis.
- Prioritize daily tasks such as simple tickets, trouble calls, CSAs, premise fixes, audit requests, LCP audits, and job postings and closings.
- Assist field techs with fiber trouble calls and correct errors in records systems.
- Verify outside plant facilities with the sales team for orders.
- Submit appropriate reports in a timely manner.
- Assist with beta testing for system upgrades.
- Work unplanned overtime and on-call as needed.
Essential Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documentation.
- Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret electric and fiber outside plant maps and design drawings.
- Basic working knowledge of electric and fiber distribution systems.
- Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts and solve practical problems.
- Proficiency in data management tools such as GTECH, enQuesta, Power Plan, Salesforce Resco, and Microstation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in CAD, Electrical Engineering with CAD training, or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of office tools such as Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to quickly learn other applications such as Outlook, GTECH, enQuesta, Power Plan, CRM, Salesforce Resco, Microstation, AutoCAD, and web applications related to data management.
Work Environment
The position is based in an office in Chattanooga, TN. The work involves sitting at a desk, using phones, and reading documents, representing a typical office setting. During system emergencies, extended work periods without rest may be required.
