Job Description
This role focuses on MIG welding steel components in a dynamic job shop environment. You will use blueprints and drawings to perform accurate, high‑quality welds while working closely with a team that supports custom fabrication and production.
Responsibilities
- MIG weld steel components according to detailed specifications provided in blueprints and drawings.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine specific welding requirements, joint types, and weld sizes.
- Set up welding equipment and materials to complete assigned jobs efficiently and safely.
- Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members in cutting, forming, welding, fabrication, and finishing areas to support smooth production flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety and shop procedures.
- Adapt to a job shop environment by working on a variety of custom projects and changing priorities as needed.
Essential Skills
- At least 1.5 to 3 years of hands-on MIG welding experience.
- Proficiency in MIG welding steel components in a production or job shop environment.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Capability to work with minimal training and quickly adapt to existing processes and standards.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure weld quality and adherence to specifications.
- Reliability in following safety practices and shop procedures.
- Ability to work assigned shift hours: 1st shift (6:00am – 2:30pm) or 2nd shift (2:15pm – 10:45pm).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Comfort working in a welding and fabrication area within a broader metal cutting, forming, and finishing operation.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members across design, fabrication, and production finishing.
- Strong work ethic and readiness to “hit the ground running” with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to bring personal welding hood and gloves for testing and daily use, as needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a job shop environment that includes office space for daily team meetings, a design area, a metal cutting and forming area, a welding and fabrication area, and a painting and production finishing area for completed products. The shop features an open floor plan with open bay doors that provide ventilation and support a comfortable working atmosphere. You will work with MIG welding equipment and steel materials as part of a broader fabrication and finishing process. Eye protection is provided on site, and you are expected to bring your own welding hood and gloves for testing and ongoing work. The position operates on structured shifts, with a 1st shift from 6:00am to 2:30pm and a 2nd shift from 2:15pm to 10:45pm, in a production-focused environment that emphasizes safety, organization, and collaboration.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
