Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to support a project in Knoxville, TN. This role involves a range of tasks including fabrication, installation, and repair of sheet metal products, particularly for HVAC systems, exhaust hoods, and dust collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Lay out and mark dimensions on metal.
• Trim, grind, and smooth surfaces.
• Weld, rivet, bolt, or caulk parts.
• Assemble and install ductwork and curbs.
• Repair existing sheet metal products.
• Cut, bend, shape, and join sheet metal.
• Interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications for layouts and assembly.
• Operate hand and power tools, including shears, welders (MIG, TIG, Stick), and possibly ductulators.
• Install assemblies and work from frameworks, ensuring conformance to specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in construction, sheet metal, and plumbing.
• Experience with HVAC systems and blueprint reading.
• Ability to install ductwork and perform commercial construction.
• Mechanical and HVAC maintenance skills.
• Knowledge of piping, pipe threading, soldering, and pipe fitting.
• Understanding of industrial plumbing design and cooling systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with duct installation and plumb work.
• Skill in using hand tools and performing mechanical tasks.

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksboro, TN.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
