Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of plumbing systems and installation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Study building plans and working drawings to determine required work aids and installation sequences.
• Inspect structures to identify obstructions and avoid weakening during pipe installation.
• Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
• Bend pipes to required angles using pipe-bending machines or manual techniques.
• Assemble and install valves, pipe fittings, and pipes made of various metals and nonmetals.
• Join pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulking techniques.
• Test plumbing systems with water or air and read pressure gauges to ensure system integrity.
• Perform maintenance by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and unclogging drains.
• Understand and interpret all contract documents and specifications.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in construction, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and piping designs.
• Experience with pipe installation, PVC, and commercial construction.
• Skilled in soldering, working with cast iron, and using hand tools.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting, pipe welding, threading, and plumbing design.
• Experience in pipe bending and working with wrenches and water systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in plumbing design and commercial construction projects.

Work Environment

Work in various environments involving both indoor and outdoor settings. Use a range of tools and machinery, including pipe-bending machines and soldering equipment. The position may require lifting heavy materials and working in tight spaces.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
