Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Description

This manufacturing facility is undergoing an expansion to develop new products by summer. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to assist in the creation and standardization of inspection and quality processes. The ideal candidate will understand how to read mechanical drawings to identify inspection points within them. They will take these inspection points and establish a process for quality technicians to verify and validate them. Additionally, they will create an SOP for the respective inspection points and select the appropriate tooling and gauges to ensure conformance.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings to identify inspection points.
• Develop processes for quality technicians to verify and validate inspection points.
• Create SOPs for inspection points and select suitable tooling and gauges.
• Conduct non-conformance checks when inspection points are off value.
• Create non-conformance SOPs to identify root causes and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Quality control experience
• Ability to interpret and understand mechanical drawings
• Strong production experience
• Root cause analysis
• Mechanical design
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
• Test build experience
• 3+ years of experience in quality control
• Knowledge of calibration, gauges, and tooling equipment

Work Environment

The role requires working within a high-pressure environment, primarily in an office setting with occasional time on the production floor. This position is on-site, five days a week, during the first shift. Although this is a contract role, there is potential for it to transition into a full-time position. The facility expansion provides ample engineering opportunities and growth within the company.
