Job Description
The Export Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for international shipments and logistics-related customer inquiries. This role coordinates export and import activities from order receipt through final delivery, ensuring compliance with regulations, accurate documentation, and on-time execution. The position supports international customers across Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Canada, and also assists with select domestic shipments as needed. The Export Coordinator works closely with internal production, customer service, and sales teams, as well as external logistics partners, to manage complex full truckload (FTL) and containerized shipments.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for customers and internal sales teams regarding international shipment status, documentation, and logistics-related questions.
- Assist with preparing, consolidating, and coordinating export orders from initial receipt through final delivery.
- Obtain shipping quotations and respond promptly to freight cost and transit time inquiries.
- Prepare, review, and manage all required export documentation, including commercial invoices, bills of lading (BOL), certificates of origin, and other country-specific shipping documents.
- Coordinate export compliance activities in collaboration with production and internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to applicable regulations.
- Manage import documentation and ensure compliance with customs regulations when required.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking partners to arrange and support export shipments.
- Book and coordinate full truckload (FTL) shipments and international containers, ensuring timely pickup, departure, and delivery.
- Track and monitor shipments from origin to destination, proactively communicating updates and resolving delays or issues as they arise.
- Assist with domestic shipments as needed, particularly during fluctuations in international shipment volumes.
- Communicate shipment progress and confirmations to sales teams, including load dates, pallet counts, departure notifications, and delivery updates.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation within ERP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Prioritize and manage multiple shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced, email-intensive environment.
- Collaborate closely with production, customer service, and sales to align shipping schedules with manufacturing and customer requirements.
- Experience in international logistics, export coordination, or supply chain operations.
- Strong working knowledge of export documentation requirements and customs compliance processes.
- Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- ERP system experience with the ability to enter, track, and update shipment and order information.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, email-heavy environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to coordinate effectively with sales, production, and external logistics partners.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate documentation and on-time shipments.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve shipment issues and delays.
- Background in supply chain, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- Familiarity with full truckload (FTL) and containerized shipping operations.
- Experience working with international customers across multiple regions such as Latin America, Asia, Europe, and Canada.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking partners.
- Comfort working with high volumes of email communication and coordinating details across multiple stakeholders.
The Export Coordinator works onsite within an office environment at a manufacturing facility. The role is highly collaborative, requiring frequent interaction with production teams, customer service, sales, and external logistics partners. The position involves extensive use of computers, ERP systems, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS), as well as regular email and phone communication in a fast-paced setting. The workday typically follows standard business hours, with occasional flexibility needed to support time-sensitive international shipments.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $60000.00/yr.
