Job Title: Manufacturing Electrical Engineer


Job Description

The Manufacturing Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing manufacturing processes to meet production requirements of quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost. This role requires expertise in electrical engineering, as the site specializes in electronics manufacturing. The engineer will collaborate closely with Production, Quality Control, Purchasing, Engineering Services, Safety, and other departments to achieve these goals.


Responsibilities

  • Lead new product introduction (NPI) efforts, including conducting time studies, selecting equipment, analyzing line balance data, specifying tooling, determining manpower requirements, and all aspects of process development.
  • Develop methods of operation to increase efficiency and reduce costs by studying product designs, materials, machines, and workflow.
  • Design and develop fixtures, jigs, and tools to facilitate efficient assembly or processing of products.
  • Ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and practices related to quality, safety, ergonomics, etc.
  • Establish production schedules based on production requirements and available resources.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management to resolve issues related to throughput, quality, and plant operations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of activities such as labor utilization, machine performance, production levels, defective rates, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining ISO certification.
  • Provide support for electrical applications, including troubleshooting electrical wiring and testing motors and control devices.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of hands-on professional electrical or mechanical engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute schematics.
  • Leadership skills to guide technicians and manufacturing personnel.
  • Strong communication and training skills.
  • Experience with electrical concepts such as wiring layouts and electrical design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Proficiency in Eplan.

Work Environment

The position is based in a contract manufacturing environment specializing in electronics manufacturing.
