Job Description
This role focuses on assembling large cooling units using a variety of hand and power tools in a clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing environment. You will work from visual aids, diagrams, and directions to perform detailed mechanical assembly, inspection, and basic troubleshooting of metal framing, copper and metal tubing, and related components. The position offers hands-on training, long-term growth opportunities, and the chance to develop strong mechanical assembly skills within a supportive production team.
Responsibilities
- Assemble large cooling units using hand and power tools according to visual aids, diagrams, and written instructions.
- Work with metal framing, copper tubing, metal piping, and other structural components, including drilling holes and routing tubing as required.
- Perform basic, standardized, and repetitive assembly operations, ensuring all steps follow established procedures and specifications.
- Manually assemble inserted components per visual aids, verifying specifications before and after assembly.
- Use manual lifting devices and perform heavy lifting with team assistance to move parts and assemblies safely.
- Label parts and assemblies accurately according to production and quality standards.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies through visual inspection to confirm that assembly was performed correctly and meets quality requirements.
- Follow directions from leads and supervisors and adhere to all work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret graphs, diagrams, and basic blueprints to complete assembly tasks correctly.
- Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to maintain workflow, meet production targets, and support continuous improvement.
- Apply basic mechanical aptitude and, when applicable, electrical knowledge to assist with troubleshooting and minor repairs during assembly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper handling and storage of tools, components, and materials.
Essential Skills
- Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- At least 1+ year of experience in detailed mechanical assembly is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work confidently with hand and power tools in a production setting.
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how components fit and function together.
- Ability to read and understand visual aids, including work instructions and visual standards.
- Ability to read and interpret graphs and diagrams to complete assembly tasks.
- Capability to follow directions accurately from leads, supervisors, and written instructions.
- Comfort with manual lifting devices and performing heavy lifting using team lifts.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform accurate visual inspection of parts and assemblies.
- Reliable work history with consistent employment in similar roles.
- Ability to work required shifts and overtime as needed.
- Willingness to work at the specified facility location.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience reading blueprints and schematics is a strong advantage.
- Electrical knowledge or proficiency is a plus.
- Experience with mechanical assembly, production, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with tubing, repair work, and visual inspection processes.
- Comfort working on an assembly line with standardized processes.
- No additional certifications are required for this role.

Work Environment
You work in an extremely clean, temperature-controlled manufacturing facility focused on safety, organization, and efficiency. The site operates as a production and assembly environment with standardized processes and clear visual aids. The schedule initially follows a training shift of 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM with overtime as needed, transitioning to a Monday–Thursday shift from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, providing three-day weekends when production allows. You use a variety of hand and power tools, manual lifting devices, and assembly equipment while collaborating closely with other team members on the production floor. Steel toe shoes are required as part of the safety dress code. The facility has the potential to grow into a multi-million-square-foot campus, offering a modern, expanding workplace with on-site amenities such as a break room and recreation center, and a structured environment that supports both productivity and employee well-being.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
