Job Description
We are seeking a driven Extrusion Engineer to join our dynamic team and shape the future of precision extrusion. In this role, you will lead the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of extrusion processes to deliver high-quality TPE and TPU products. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement extrusion processes, inline controls, and quality checks.
- Optimize tooling design, assembly, maintenance, and strategies for outsourcing and insourcing.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and external vendors to meet tight tolerances and customer specifications.
- Diagnose process issues, apply problem-solving methods, and minimize downtime and defects.
- Maintain accurate documentation for traceability, reproducibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams—Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Health & Safety—to uphold QMS and EMS standards.
- Lead PFMEA, process capability (PCP) analyses, and design of experiments to drive continuous improvement.
- Train production staff on best practices and provide technical guidance to ensure consistent quality.
- Assist with equipment maintenance planning to keep extrusion lines running at peak performance.
- Champion scrap-reduction, cost-saving initiatives, and overall productivity enhancements.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with precision extrusion, including setting up and running TPE/TPU lines.
- Solid understanding of extrusion equipment design and process instrumentation.
- Proven track record working independently and within cross-functional teams, balancing shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with flexibility to adapt during change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency with databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Basic statistical knowledge and keen eye for inspection, dexterity for detailed work.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
- Background in manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Experience in process improvement and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite applications.
