Job Description

Join a dedicated healthcare team where you will provide nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician or physician extender. You will be responsible for assisting with routine office procedures, patient health counseling, and maintaining patient records with utmost confidentiality.


Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to patients under the direction of a physician or physician extender.
  • Assist in examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Utilize medical equipment and instruments safely within the clinical setting.
  • Take and enter vital signs into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Identify problems and seek appropriate guidance.
  • Develop and maintain clinical quality assurance.
  • Perform triage for patient calls for urgent appointments or interventions under supervision.
  • Provide patient health counseling, education, and instruction.
  • Collaborate with the clinical care team.
  • Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts.
  • Review and report lab results to the physician.
  • Prepare patients for exams and treatments and document information in the EMR.
  • Conduct and document monthly chronic care management encounters.
  • Execute and document orders from physicians under supervision.
  • Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.

Essential Skills

  • Medical assisting and patient care expertise.
  • Ability to perform triage and handle patient calls.
  • Valid CMA licensure in Tennessee.
  • 2-3+ years of experience as a medical assistant.
  • Current BLS certification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to take vital signs and perform urine test strips.
  • Interpret lab results and report to physician.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain quality control standards.
  • Problem-solving abilities and recommending solutions.
  • Effective communication skills orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of basic arithmetic and computer skills.
  • Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods, push, pull, reach, bend, sit, stoop, and stretch.

Work Environment

Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, handling a patient load of 30-35 one-on-one. Collaborate with a team consisting of a nurse, receptionist, and medical assistant in a supportive and professional setting.
