Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team for project-based work focusing on efficiency and refrigerant upgrades. In this role, you will research and source vendors for various electrical components, utilize Creo Electrical drawings using Windchill to access schematics and layouts, and apply your electrical experience to size wires and voltages. You will also support sustaining products by improving quality, reducing costs, managing component obsolescence, and conducting failure analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Research and source vendors for wire harnesses, connectors, relays, switches, contactors, circuit breakers, terminals, etc.
  • Use Creo Electrical drawings via Windchill to access schematics and panel layouts.
  • Size wires and voltages based on your electrical experience.
  • Support sustaining products, including quality improvements, cost reductions, component obsolescence management, and failure analysis.
  • Evaluate and approve components to meet requirements for availability, performance, and cost.
  • Determine root causes and corrective actions for component failures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical component issues on the production floor and identify if the issue is design-related, supplier quality-related, or production-related.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and creating schematics, controls, and connection prints.
  • Knowledge of UL 508 and UL 1995 standards.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with wire harnesses and electrical components.
  • Experience in automation and electrical engineering.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology, or substantial experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician.
  • Excellent communication skills for interfacing with team members across various skill levels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Relevant co-op or internship experience.

Work Environment

You will work at the Electrical Engineering Product department with main hours from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Initially, the role will be in-office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with remote work on Monday and Friday, unless in-office presence is required. There is a possibility of transitioning to a full 5-day in-office schedule, so candidates must be comfortable and commutable for such changes.

Compensation:$35
