Job Title: Phlebotomist
Job Description
The Phlebotomist will perform phlebotomy and skin punctures on patients according to phlebotomy protocols to obtain suitable specimens for accurate clinical results. This role involves collecting specimens through proper handling protocols to ensure the viability of patient specimens and accurate clinical results. The Phlebotomist will also perform clerical duties to receive, identify, accession, and process specimens using established protocols to facilitate timely and accurate test performance.
Responsibilities
- Perform phlebotomy and skin punctures according to established protocols.
- Collect specimens ensuring proper handling and viability.
- Conduct clerical duties including receiving, identifying, and accessioning specimens.
- Process specimens using established protocols for accurate test performance.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques.
- Completion of a Phlebotomist Training Program; ASCP Certification preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to work effectively in a team setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a medical office assistant.
Work Environment
The clinic handles approximately 30-40 sticks per day, providing a balanced workload in a not incredibly busy clinic environment. The role is based in a primary care and hope clinic located in Smyrna.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, Tennessee.
