Hiring for Maintenance Mechanics in LaVergne, TN

Job Description

The Maintenance Mechanic will take on the critical role of ensuring all industrial equipment functions seamlessly. This role involves performing preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the constant operation of converting equipment and lines. Additionally, the mechanic will participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives and implement technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on all industrial equipment, including conveyors, photo eye sensors, packaging equipment, labelers, and cappers.
  • Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Ensure continuous operation of converting equipment and lines.
  • Participate in manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, and multimeters.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of industrial maintenance experience working on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and 3-phase motors.
  • Comfortable with changeovers, setups, fillers, pumps, and valves.
  • Troubleshooting and repair skills in a mechanical and electrical setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred 3+ years of experience working in a GMP environment.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office.
  • Experience in a FDA facility is a plus.
  • Previous experience in GMP or food manufacturing is advantageous.

Work Environment

This is a privately held health and beauty care company operating nearly a million square feet of production and distribution centers. The plant operates 24/5, with product distribution occurring nationwide, 7 days a week. The facility is FDA regulated and candidates with a experience in liquid filling or packaging, particularly from the food and beverage industry, are preferred. Note that there may be strong odors in the facility, varying by department, which could include scents of mouthwash, lotion, or alcohol.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
