Job Description
This position is responsible for all inspections, routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and engineering changes on all of the stamping dies.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on all stamping dies and related components.
- Conduct inspections, root cause analysis, in-press diagnosis, and repairs of stamping dies.
- Perform welding to repair worn or damaged tools, fabricate new components, and improve tool properties.
- Disassemble, assemble, and troubleshoot issues with presses and dies, collaborating with engineers and equipment manufacturers to improve processes.
- Handle rigging and lifting for die sets.
- Operate in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and prudent safety standards.
- Experience with HAAS or ACER mills/lathes is strongly preferred.
- Accurately read and interpret blueprints.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using measurement instruments and inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour, and defects, making adjustments when necessary.
- Proficiency in tool and die making, manual lathes, and mills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong skills in machining, die repair, troubleshooting, and die maintenance.
- Experience with progressive dies, manual lathe, manual mill, grinder, stamping, surface grinding, and Bridgeport.
- 4+ years of experience in tool and die or a journeyman card in tooling, with schooling as an acceptable alternative.
- Experience with lathes, mills, surface grinders, and welding machines (Mig and Tig).
- Experience in die de-construction and re-assembly.
- Experience in lifting and rigging to move large die sets.
- Experience with spectrometer and Argus systems is a plus.
Work in a highly automated manufacturing plant with compensation above the market rate.
Work Environment
The work environment is a brand-new manufacturing facility in the stamping department. The location is large, clean, and equipped with highly automated press equipment. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, starting January 5, 2026. Training will occur from the start date until January 5, 2026, from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm. Safety gear, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, and high-visibility vests, is required. Acceptable attire includes jeans or work pants without holes, rips, shorts, or leggings, and plain-colored T-shirts or polos without vulgar language, images, or contraband.

This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
