Job Title: Field Technician


Job Description

The Field Technician will perform RF site installation, configuration setup, end-to-end system alignment, commissioning, line-sweeps, testing, and fault diagnosis during implementation on operational Land Mobile Radio (LMR) networks (P25). This role involves radio programming, repairing, and installation of mobile and portable radios, antennas, and accessories. Additionally, tasks include unit swaps and associated tests in various vehicles, mounting, cabling, initial setup and testing of site equipment, fault isolation, and replacement at the unit level. The technician will complete test records, fault reports, and all other project-related documentation, forwarding them to the installation supervisor. Ensuring safety practices are followed at all times and maintaining company-owned equipment in good repair are essential. The technician will also provide technical assistance to the programs team, customers, and co-workers requiring telephone or on-site support.


Responsibilities

  • Perform RF site installation, configuration setup, and system alignment on LMR networks.
  • Conduct radio programming, repairing, and installation of radios, antennas, and accessories.
  • Execute unit swaps and associated tests in a variety of vehicles.
  • Mount, cable, set up and test site equipment, and perform fault isolation and replacement.
  • Complete test records, fault reports, and forward documentation to the installation supervisor.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and maintain company equipment in good repair.
  • Provide technical assistance to programs team, customers, and co-workers via telephone or on-site support.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in troubleshooting radio systems and RF communication.
  • Proficiency in radio frequency, amateur radio, and ham radio technologies.
  • Knowledge of electronics testing, voltage, and two-way radio installation.
  • Familiarity with LMR (Land Mobile Radio) and IT protocols.
  • Service experience in military communications preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Information Technologies.
  • Experience with LMR and RF systems.
  • Military or defense experience.
  • Experience with telecommunication systems.
  • Experience with IT.
