Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

Join our team as an E Shift Maintenance Mechanic, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production and process support equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, troubleshooting complex electrical systems, and supporting the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain equipment in production and process support equipment for the Plant.
  • Locate and replace defective components promptly.
  • Collaborate with other Mechanics on repairs requiring teamwork or additional technical assistance.
  • Troubleshoot Motor Control Centers, relays, solenoids, and complex fractional hp electrical drives, both D.C. and A.C. frequency drives.
  • Set up packaging equipment such as cartoners.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices daily.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable BRC and food safety requirements.
  • Understand the function of all production and process support equipment.
  • Handle SPA responsibilities for one of the EHS protocols.
  • Request parts for equipment repair following the request process.
  • Follow spare equipment schedule for needed repairs.
  • Teach, coach, and mentor line operators in PM processes.
  • Support the Production Team Leader on production tasks.
  • Maintain housekeeping in your work area and maintenance shop.

Essential Skills

  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Troubleshooting conveyor systems, AC/DC motors, pneumatic systems, and industrial maintenance.
  • Maintenance repair and 3-phase systems.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, HDMI's, fault codes.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and preventive maintenance.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform repairs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA certified Forklift Operator is a plus.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools such as drills and grinders.
  • Ownership and proficiency in using a Presto Approved VOM meter digital multi-meter.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled environment, often around equipment at temperatures exceeding 300°F. Be prepared to walk or stand during the entire shift and climb stairs or ladders, with shifts lasting up to 12 hours. The role requires working in high places and lifting up to 50 lbs. The E Shift runs from 7 am to 7 pm, following a 36/48 rotation schedule, with overtime opportunities available.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $67704.00 - $67704.00/yr.
