Job Title: Configuration Engineer

Job Description

As a Configuration Engineer, you will provide hands-on technical support to configure and troubleshoot networked IT and voice systems for the air traffic control network. You will be responsible for preparing, configuring, and testing computing, network equipment, and communications hardware in an assembly environment.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and work orders to evaluate current configuration needs.
• Follow installation documentation, drawings, and implementation schedules.
• Install, configure, and test workstations, printers, network connections, teleconferencing devices, and peripheral hardware as specified.
• Troubleshoot computers, networks, and telecommunications equipment for installation or application configuration issues.
• Attend user training on hardware functionality and best practices.
• Document all configuration changes and test activities.
• Perform physical labor, including lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing hardware and peripherals.
• Experience installing and configuring operating systems and software applications.
• Knowledge of antivirus software, patch management, and basic networking.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Familiarity with Active Directory policies and security.
• Excellent time management, communication, and customer service skills.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years of relevant technical experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field with relevant technical experience is preferred.

Work Environment

The position is located in Coppell, TX, where teams of configuration and test engineers work in parallel to assemble, configure, and perform validation testing of communications equipment. The work environment includes both office settings and assembly floor conditions.
