Job Title: Substation Construction Manager
Pay Rate: $60-65/hr + Per Diem

Job Description
• Prioritizes and enforces safety protocols on the job site, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
• Broad understanding of company policies and procedures
• Coordinates with engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed effectively
• Perform inspections, maintain QA/QC documents, and audits construction quality, ensuring adherence to standards and specifications
• Maintains open communication with team members, clients, and other stakeholders throughout the project
• Keeps detailed records of construction activities, progress reports, and safety inspections
• Experience in leading and managing construction, including monitoring tasks, providing feedback, and resolving conflicts
• Vast knowledge of electrical schematics, mechanical, civil, and steel structural drawings
• Thorough understanding of safety regulations and practices, including the ability to identify and mitigate hazards
• Ability to identify and resolve issues that may arise during construction, ensuring the project stays on track
• Familiar with concrete work, flat foundations, drill piers, breaker pads, GSU containment pits
• Work with EPC to resolve requests for information (RFI) and change orders
• Perform material procurement and material take offs
Preferred Work Experience
• An SME in substation or utility scale energy storage design and/or project management, with established expertise in one or more of the following areas:
o Power electronics
o Battery storage system design
o Substation design
o Generation tie design
• Design and/or operation of large-scale power generation or processing plants involving adherence to regulatory requirements while maximizing the performance and reliability of technically complex systems
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of construction methods, including foundations, trenching, electrical terminations and testing, and best safety practices
• Strong knowledge of technologies in energy storage including varying battery chemistries, power conversion units and DC-DC converters
• Lithium-ion battery storage safety: Familiarity with UL1973, UL9540, UL9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 70E, NEC, applicable IFC/IBC sections
• Familiarity with interconnection studies and GIA material modification adjustment (MMA) processes, particularly in WECC and CAISO
• Construction permitting and contracting experience
• Shows maturity of technical expertise and assumes responsibility for highly specialized technical objectives
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively conveying technical and non-technical concepts to diverse audiences
