Job Title: Electrical Engineer - Denison


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with extensive knowledge of Electrical Design and Drafting techniques, including Schematic & Diagram generation. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the principles and practices in related technical areas and have broad experience in applying electrical engineering methods to plant construction.


Responsibilities

  • Perform assignments independently while seeking guidance from the Department Manager and Senior Designer on unusual or complex problems.
  • Provide technical direction to Drafters and Designers.
  • Design and coordinate work with Drafters, Designers, and Senior Designer.
  • Review Job Submittal packages and Customer furnished information to plan and design work, and make recommendations.
  • Perform panel loading calculations and balancing for load centers, panelboards, and switchboards, including wire/cable, conduit, and tray sizing.
  • Compose Bill of Materials (BOM).
  • Engage in extensive and routine contact with project shop and field personnel.
  • Adhere to safety standards and follow local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Execute additional tasks as required.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2015, including Electrical (2017 Electrical is a plus).
  • Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Inventor 3D CAD or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in working with multiple discipline projects.
  • Familiarity with electrical equipment such as generators, switchgear, and UPS systems.
  • Understanding of industry standard communication protocols.
  • Ability to interpret contract specifications and electrical drawing packages.
  • Knowledgeable in National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Accubid or similar estimating software is a plus.
  • Direct experience with structural steel building fabrication and electrical equipment packaging preferred.
  • Manufacturing knowledge of equipment like Caterpillar, Cummins, MTU & Schneider is beneficial.
  • Emergency Power Generation and Switchgear installation experience.

Work Environment

Our work environment is characterized by a laid-back culture without micromanagement. The role offers an 8am-5pm schedule from Monday to Thursday and a 7am-3:30pm schedule on Fridays. We support a hybrid work schedule, allowing 1-2 days remote work and 3-4 days on-site. Each day presents unique challenges, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work experience. Our team values collaboration, and interaction with the shop is a daily occurrence.
