Job Title: Solar Technician - I&C

Job Description

We are seeking an I&C Technician responsible for operating and maintaining utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems. The role involves monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairing the plant's electrical and mechanical equipment, along with various other duties.



Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain utility-scale solar photovoltaic electric systems.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on solar panels and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with plant stakeholders and communicate effectively.
  • Independently operate a solar plant and follow directions when required.
  • Engage in physically demanding activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting heavy equipment while ensuring safety in all weather conditions.


Essential Skills

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 2-year college/technical degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.


Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Electrical background is highly preferred.
  • Solar utility-scale inverter maintenance experience preferred.
  • Strong technical background in electrical and electronic devices and equipment.
  • Instrumentation experience is a plus.
  • Experience with PV and inverters is desired.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking and deal with various situations.


Work Environment

The work environment involves working at a solar plant, which requires engaging in physically demanding activities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting heavy equipment, and working safely in all types of weather.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Stockton, TX
