The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following duties. Additional essential functions may
be identified by the organization and listed as such in the incumbent's OJT module. Various tasks may be
assigned under each essential function.

Those that are listed under the examples of work are not all inclusive;
they are examples only and may be amended or added to as needed by the organization.
• Inspect and verify proper completion and documentation of aircraft maintenance events and discrepancies,
to include alterations and repairs, serviceable and unserviceable tags.
• Verify currency and applicability of maintenance manuals, inspection guides, ICA's, AD's, Service
Bulletins, drawings, engineering data, on-board aircraft operation manuals, aircraft registration and
airworthiness certificates.
• Brief aircrew of inspections, repairs, and open discrepancies prior to maintenance check flights.
• Inspect and verify proper completion and documentation of engine maintenance events to include
inspections, repairs, and overhauls.
• Prepare maintenance, inspection, repair, and alteration documents to include aircraft and engine
maintenance entries, FAA Form 8130-3, and FAA Form 337.
• Perform fixed wing aircraft engine leak and operational checks to include aircraft taxi.
• Perform receiving inspections of incoming parts and components and verify accompanying documentation.
• Enter inspection findings into database to determine trending issues.
• Must be familiar with all FAR's required to operate an FAA Repair Station.
• Ensure safety requirements are paramount within the Repair Station operations.
• Participate in general housekeeping and FOD control activities as required.
• Able to work any assigned shift or schedule outside normal duty hours and travel as required.
• Performs other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The following minimum qualifications have been identified by subject matter experts (SMEs) who have supervised this position or functioned in the position; they are based on job analysis information supplied by these SMEs. However, if a candidate believes he/she is qualified for the job although he/she does not have the minimum qualifications set forth below, he/she may request special consideration through substitution of related education and experience, demonstrating the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Any request to substitute related education or experience for minimum qualifications must be addressed to the Human Resource Department in writing, identifying the related education and experience which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform all essential functions of the position. If a candidate believes he/she needs a reasonable accommodation to meet these minimum qualifications or, if called for an interview, to attend such an interview, the candidate must notify the Human Resource Department in writing of the need for the accommodation and identify the specific accommodation requested.

KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
The following skills and abilities are required:
• Must hold a valid certificate issued by the FAA with both Airframe and Power Plant ratings with an Inspection Authorization (IA).
• Must possess a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance.
• Shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in a quality control program at the level of making airworthiness decisions.
• Must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Must hold and maintain in force a valid driver's license.
• Must be familiar on the type of customer's designated aircraft for which he/she has responsibility, with formal training preferred.
• Must be computer literate.
• Both fixed and rotary wing, reciprocating and turbine engine experience is desired.
• Pentagon 2000 SQLand/or IBM Maximo experience is desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Normal day-to-day working conditions are inside an environmentally controlled shop. Work may be required in an aircraft hangar with good ventilation and airflow. Work may be required in outside weather conditions where employees will be exposed to all types of environmental conditions and extremes such as hot, cold, rain, wind, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, and the risk of electrical shock. The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment including eye protection, ear protection, hand protection, respirators, masks, aprons, leather safety shoes, steel toe shoes, fall protection harness, and other equipment anytime the potential for hazards exists. The employee is occasionally exposed to highly precarious places, confined spaces, toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of radiation; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
