Food Runner

Job Description

A Food Runner plays a key role in maintaining smooth, efficient service by acting as the bridge between the kitchen and the dining room. This position ensures that dishes are delivered promptly, accurately, and with excellent presentation, contributing to an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders quickly and accurately to the correct tables.
• Communicate effectively with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timing and order accuracy.
• Verify dish details, including modifications, allergens, and presentation standards.
• Support servers by refilling drinks, clearing plates, and responding to guest needs.
• Maintain the cleanliness of service stations, expo lines, and dining areas.
• Assist with table resets and overall dining room flow during busy periods.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by being attentive, courteous, and proactive.

Essential Skills

• Serve food, run food, and replace food boxes efficiently.
• Speed and efficiency in service delivery.
• Attention to detail with correct dishes, tables, and timing.
• Strong communication for clear coordination between the kitchen and servers.
• Teamwork to support the flow of front‑ and back‑of‑house operations.
• Physical stamina for carrying plates, staying on feet, and handling rushes.

Work Environment

The position is based in a cafeteria setting at a university, providing a fast-paced and collaborative work environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.25/hr.
