Job Description
This role involves operating multiple types of forklifts and material handling equipment in a busy warehouse environment, with a focus on shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment. The position requires open availability between early morning and early evening hours, consistent attendance, and a strong desire for a long-term opportunity with potential for permanent employment.
Responsibilities
- Operate an order picker (cherry picker), reach truck, and sit-down forklift safely and efficiently throughout the shift.
- Perform shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Handle inventory control tasks such as cycle counts, stocking, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Pick and pack orders using RF scanners, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling of products and pallets.
- Palletize, wrap, and stage pallets for shipment or storage according to warehouse procedures.
- Move, organize, and store materials and products within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Assist with general labor tasks such as packaging, labeling, and preparing products for distribution.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in all warehouse zones.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of steel-toe footwear and adherence to equipment operating guidelines.
- Meet productivity and quality expectations while working long days and occasional Saturdays as required.
- Adhere to a strict attendance and punctuality policy, arriving on time and ready to work for the full scheduled shift.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience operating an order picker (cherry picker), reach truck, and sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated forklift operating skills, including both stand-up and sit-down forklifts.
- Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes.
- Experience with inventory control, including cycle counts and stock management.
- Ability to use RF scanners for picking, packing, and inventory tasks.
- Capability to perform heavy lifting and manual material handling throughout the shift.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking, labeling, and packaging.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality with the ability to work long days and occasional Saturdays.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and warehouse operating guidelines consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in warehouse distribution and warehouse operations.
- Background in loading, unloading, and palletizing products and materials.
- Familiarity with pallet jacks and other material handling equipment.
- Experience with stocking, picking orders, and general warehouse labor.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment with changing priorities.
- Interest in a long-term role with potential for permanent employment.

Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment in Grand Prairie, TX, where temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work around active shipping and receiving docks, forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Typical shifts run from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the need for open availability between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. and the expectation of working many Saturdays and longer days when required. The role involves continuous standing, walking, and heavy lifting, as well as frequent operation of forklifts and use of RF scanners. Steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code to ensure safety on the warehouse floor.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
