Job Title: Tooling Operator (3rd Shift)Job Description

Join a leading forge and fabricator in the aerospace industry as a Tooling Operator, where you will play a crucial role in manufacturing airplane frames. This position involves operating various machines to press and form thicker metal components while ensuring precision and quality in every part produced.

Responsibilities
  • Operate machines such as band saws, press machines, bump machines, and stretch machines.
  • Measure parts accurately using a tape measure to ensure proper dimensions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.
  • Assist in different areas of the shop as needed, acting as a floater.
  • Train in various tasks to support shop operations effectively.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in machine operating in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the metal manufacturing or forging industry.
  • Proficiency in operating JibCrane or Overhead Crane.
  • Ability to read and interpret tape measures and blueprints.
  • Experience with CNC machine operation, press machines, and blueprint reading.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a furnace operator.
  • Strong measuring skills.
  • Capability to operate various machines and excellent math skills.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment that, while non-climate controlled, maintains a high level of organization and cleanliness. The facility features an older exterior but is well-kept and clearly labeled. Steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work shirt are required attire, along with appropriate PPE. The night shift schedule is Sunday from 9:00 pm to 5:30 am, and Monday through Wednesday from 5:00 pm to 5:30 am, with Thursday hours as needed. Training will initially occur on the day shift for approximately two weeks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
