A large forge and fabricator of aerospace and airplane products is seeking a dedicated Material Handler. The role involves moving large pieces of heavy titanium throughout the shop using a forklift, side loader, and overhead crane. Attention to detail is crucial as you will be responsible for ensuring the correct parts are delivered to the appropriate departments.
Responsibilities- Operate forklifts, side loaders, and overhead cranes to move heavy metal and products within the manufacturing environment.
- Track and manage inventory as parts are moved across different departments.
- Ensure accuracy in part placement and delivery.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities.
- Utilize RF scanners and ERP/SAP systems for inventory management.
- 3+ years of experience as a Material Handler in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience operating a side loader and forklift.
- Proficiency in moving heavy metal or products in a manufacturing setting.
- Experience with ERP/SAP systems.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes.
- Computer inventory management skills.

Work EnvironmentThis position is located in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment, which can be hot in the summer. The shop is meticulously organized with a clean interior, despite an older exterior. Employees must wear steel-toed boots, jeans, and work shirts, along with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The day shift runs from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with extended hours as needed on Fridays and weekends. Flexibility is required as shifts may eventually move to the 2nd or 3rd shift. All positions will train on the day shift for approximately two weeks before transitioning to their respective shifts.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of HOUSTON, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
