Job Title: Electrical Engineer


Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team and take an active role in reviewing, updating, modifying, and approving electrical design drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) to meet regulatory and safety guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling them to successfully liaise with clients and collaborate with other engineers in ensuring projects meet specifications and are completed on time.


Responsibilities

  • Review, update, modify, and approve electrical design drawings and BOM to meet regulatory and safety guidelines.
  • Liaise with clients and other engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications and on time.
  • Establish relationships with clients, vendors, suppliers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain and improve existing engineering processes and workflows.
  • Participate in conferences, events, networking, and learning opportunities.
  • Create cost estimates, schedules, and various other documents.
  • Analyze existing processes and schedule meetings to discuss improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
  • Design and build prototypes as part of the development process as required.
  • Work in a cross-functional project team environment, as well as individually on assignments.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing and service teams.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer in an OEM equipment manufacturing design environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with using AutoCAD 2D software to create electrical schematics to detail design specifications and requirements.
  • Proficiency in working with electrical engineering, medium voltage, motors, electric equipment, and power generation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Experience in project management and cost estimation.

Work Environment

The position offers a dynamic work environment with a Monday to Friday schedule. You will spend time in the shop depending on the design phase, which could be up to three weeks at a time. Adaptability to work in both shop and office settings is required. You will manage 1-2 projects at a time, with travel less than 20%, possibly involving visits to West Texas for service issues with clients and commissioning due to increased demand for modular data centers.
