Electrical Designer (Power Generation | MicroStation +3D)
Overview
You’ll support power generation projects that help communities and industry adapt to a rapidly changing energy landscape—delivering resilient, sustainable infrastructure from planning and studies through engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) and beyond.
This is a lead technical design role focused on 3D electrical design and modeling using MicroStation, producing high-quality deliverables for large-scale power plant programs.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and execute electrical physical design for power generation facilities from concept through detailed design/IFC packages.
- Develop and maintain 2D/3D design deliverables in MicroStation, including:
- Cable tray layout and routing
- Duct bank / underground electrical routing
- Raceway / conduit / trench design and coordination
- Plans, sections, details, and model-based documentation
- Coordinate with civil/structural/mechanical and project teams to ensure constructability, quality, and alignment with project milestones.
- Apply and support consistent design practices, documentation standards, and quality reviews to ensure accurate, complete deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance to designers/technicians as needed and contribute to continuous improvement of workflows and digital execution.
What You’ll Bring (Required)
- Proven experience as an Electrical Designer supporting power generation / power plant work.
- Strong hands-on experience with MicroStation (modeling + drawing production).
- Solid background in 3D modeling for electrical physical design.
- Demonstrated experience producing cable tray, duct bank, and raceway/conduit design deliverables.
- Strong collaboration skills across disciplines; detail-oriented approach to quality.
Work Environment
You’ll work in a collaborative digital design environment heavily centered on MicroStation and 3D execution. Teams deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions and prioritize constructability, safety, and dependable project delivery.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $70.00 - $90.00/hr.
