Job Title: Distribution Designer

Job Description

Join our team as a Distribution Designer where you will play a crucial role in system design, engineering, and supervisory capacities. You will be responsible for creating distribution design prints that adhere to established guidelines and standards. This role also involves specifying construction standards and providing mentorship to new designers.

Responsibilities

  • Create distribution design prints according to established guidelines and standards.
  • Specify distribution construction standards.
  • Review, approve, and stamp distribution designs and drawings.
  • Mentor and train new distribution designers.
  • Provide quality assurance and quality control of design projects.
  • Specify necessary materials per construction standards.
  • Perform and provide cost estimates to customers.
  • Support distribution designers with customer-related issues and expectations.
  • Prepare new drawings utilizing AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Utility Design methods.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of distribution design experience.
  • Proficiency in distribution design, transmission, and power delivery.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with the NESC.
  • Knowledge of electrical and electric systems.
  • Associates degree in engineering or design discipline.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with DDS, AutoCAD, and GIS.
  • Experience with AEP or Centerpoint is a huge plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
