Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. This role involves testing and calibrating parts to ensure they meet tolerances and product specifications. Assemblers will utilize hand tools and power tools, such as wrenches, pliers, drills, and impacts, to complete tasks according to drawings or blueprints. At times, you will work independently and at other times, collaborate with a group of assemblers. Additionally, you will use a propane hand torch to apply shrink wrap material to products prior to shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble fabricated parts into large or heavy subassemblies and complete units.
  • Test and calibrate parts to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Utilize hand and power tools, including wrenches, pliers, drills, and impacts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints or schematics for assembly tasks.
  • Apply shrink wrap material to products using a propane hand torch.
  • Adhere to workplace safety protocols, including proper tool usage, lifting techniques, and hazard identification.

Essential Skills

  • 3-5 years of mechanical assembly experience.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints or schematics.
  • Experience in operating hand and power tools.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating forklift or scissor lift.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Assembly skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge.
  • Experience with power tools and hand tools.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a production environment with exposure to loud noise, moving machinery, and other hazards. Frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing between 10 and 50 pounds is required. Safety protocols must be followed at all times. The work schedule is first shift from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Pay Rate $21 - $29 based on experience

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $29.00/hr.
