Job Title: Site Safety Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Site Safety Specialist to ensure the highest standards of safety on our construction sites. This role involves enforcing site-specific safety plans, conducting field inspections, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction safety, particularly in food and beverage facility construction.



Responsibilities
  • Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans and procedures.
  • Conduct field safety inspections and assist with digital documentation using platforms like HammerTech.
  • Monitor contractor activities during equipment installation, piping, welding, and electrical work.
  • Assist with incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Provide safety orientation and training for site personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Arrive approximately 30 minutes before the first shift to review precast plans and sign off on any high-risk activity permits before work begins.
  • Ensure crews are set up and ready to start safely and efficiently.
  • Actively walk the site to review pre-task plans and provide real-time safety guidance, maintaining a strong field presence.
  • Ensure all permits are properly closed out before the end of the shift.
  • Serve as the last safety representative to leave the site, confirming all safety documentation and activities are complete.

Essential Skills
  • 8+ years of site safety or field safety experience.
  • 4-5 years of experience in food and beverage facility construction or industrial construction.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety practices and digital safety platforms.
  • Experience with HammerTech or similar safety management tools.
  • Knowledge of process equipment installation, MEP, and experience with pharmaceutical or sterilization facilities or Class H chemicals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Certifications above OSHA 30 required; NCCER or ACSP preferred.
  • Experience in safety procedures and compliance.
  • Ability to manage both administrative and field safety tasks.

Work Environment

This role will be 100% on site in Grand Prairie, with working hours typically spanning 8-10 hour days, 6 days a week. The position is open to candidates willing to travel. The environment is collaborative, with a focus on employee experience and innovative solutions in the life sciences and food and beverage industries.

This is a Contract position based out of Irving, Texas.
