Job Description

Our monitoring build engineering team currently provides monitoring development and support for the the entire APSRE portfolio including 7 tier 0 AITS, 59 tier 1 AIT's and roughly 1,500 total AITs (224 UCAL). Monitoring is critical to all of our APSRE AIT's to ensure platform stability and reduce/prevent impact to our customers. Team currently has heavy workload in supporting enterprise monitoring tool adoption efforts for Dynatrace/Splunk (all tier 0-2 and/or UCAL AIT's), Dynatrace agent upgrades for unsupported agents (roughly 8,500 agents), and standardization efforts for Splunk/Dynatrace standardization efforts. This is all in addition to an average of 20 tickets daily to support our APS, IDM and CIO partners. We also anticipate a SiteScope to Dynatrace Synthetic migration effort to kick off this year (POC already in flight, roughly 78,000 monitors potentially in scope)

Position Summary

This Application Monitoring Engineer will be responsible for delivering and supporting monitoring solutions for large-scale network, system, application, service, and business application availability. This position involves the creation, deployment and support of the application and system instrumentation that the company uses to monitor their network, systems and business application portfolio. Individual will work with members of the team to gather monitoring requirements from stakeholders and deliver solutions based on direction provided by Monitoring Architect and Monitoring Lead.

Must have 4+ years’ experience developing alerting and application dashboards using Splunk as well as utilizing APM tools such as Dynatrace

Minimum 4+ years’ experience with implementation of synthetic and business process monitoring tools such as SiteScope, Glassbox, Catchpoint.
