Description
The Technical Support Associate is responsible for providing desktop support and service restoration for daily operations and project efforts in a complex, distributed computing environment. Performs a broad range of IT support service: PC, MAC, software, hardware, and basic network support. Collaborates with team members and customers and contributes to the efforts to develop, implement, and continuously improve systems. If you were struggling to resolve a case, how would you resolve it? ANSWER: They are looking for problem solvers who will exhaust all options before escalating it. They should look through their internal systems, copilot and any other materials they have to resolve cases. Can you explain the role of DHCP in a network? ANSWER: DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) automatically assigns IP addresses to devices on a network, eliminating the need for manual configuration. It ensures efficient IP management and helps prevent address conflicts. How does DNS work, and why is it important? ANSWER: DNS (Domain Name System) translates human-readable domain names (e.g., www.example.com) into IP addresses, allowing users to access websites without needing to remember numerical addresses. It is crucial for seamless internet navigation. What troubleshooting steps would you take if a workstation loses network connectivity? ANSWER: Check physical connections (cables, Wi-Fi signal, network adapter), Verify IP configuration using ipconfig or ifconfig, Restart the network device and workstation, Check for firewall or antivirus settings blocking access, Test with another device to determine if the issue is localized, Contact the network administrator if necessary.
