Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Field Engineer to diagnose and resolve complex system issues while guiding others in problem-solving strategies. You will serve as the primary technical contact, offering onsite and remote coaching to address challenges effectively. Your role will involve conducting system maintenance on field controllers, servers, workstations, and associated hardware.
Responsibilities
- Identify and communicate technical issues, recommending necessary upgrades, enhancements, or repairs.
- Monitor equipment schedules and suggest modifications to optimize performance.
- Oversee assigned tasks to ensure timely completion while exceeding customer quality expectations.
- Maintain clear documentation and provide status updates to customers throughout the project.
- Deliver customized training to owners and operators, ensuring a smooth transition for system upgrades and service improvements.
- Electrical, mechanical, and controls expertise, particularly in Building Automation Controls or BMS.
- Experience with mechanical operations such as pumps, water systems, and air flow.
- Proficiency in controls, including working on panels within a building.
- Strong understanding of meters and relays, including start/stop and process functioning controls.
- Advanced expertise in TCP/IP networks, including wireless technologies.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Proficient in navigating and integrating various building automation systems.
- Ability to interpret and understand architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
- Experience in managing multiple simultaneous challenges across various disciplines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- Holds a Bachelor’s or Associate degree, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field.
- Capable of downloading, analyzing, and troubleshooting complex HVAC and building automation system logic.
The role involves both onsite and remote work, providing technical support and coaching. The position requires the ability to conduct system maintenance on various hardware. The work environment includes interaction with building automation systems and the need to interpret technical blueprints. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications is necessary for success in this role.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of McAllen, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
